Certified Italian Language Classes

Italian Language Course organization:

The Piccola Università Italiana has offered professionally organized Italian language courses since 1993.

Because of our years of experience, passion for teaching and ongoing professional development, we are able to deliver superior quality Italian language courses to suit all language levels and needs (e.g. Beginner to advanced, Italian for business professionals, basic Italian for tourists, etc.) We are extremely proud that the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research officially recognizes our courses.

The courses are divided into five levels, which are again divided into six sub-levels – our Italian language school offers 11 language levels! To ensure an optimal learning environment, class size is limited from 3-6 students. The low student- teacher ratio allows for considerable individual attention and guarantees that no student’s needs are overlooked due to a large class size.

On the first day of each course, all students will take a written and oral placement test to determine language proficiency. The written test takes a maximum of 30 minutes followed by a short oral test. The appropriate language placement level is assigned according to the results of these tests.

The school has 11 classrooms and 3 terraces as well as a cinema room and an internet room. A small multimedia library offers additional opportunity for individual study after class.

The courses are conducted entirely in Italian (direct method).

Our teaching methodology, known as the “direct method”, allows the best opportunity to develop listening and oral comprehension skills and to improve the student’s linguistic sensibilities.

Even very beginners without any knowledge of the Italian language can start a course any time during the year.

Specialized courses are available for professionals, which include Italian for the hotel and tourism industry, business Italian, in addition to art, literature and history courses. We also offer preparatory courses for the CILS and IT examinations.

The courses are designed for students of all ages and nationalities with the desire to learn the Italian language and to study and explore Italian culture.
