Study, vacation and leisure time in Tropea

Studying Italian at the Piccola Università Italiana in Tropea offers a wonderful opportunity to make new friends from all corners of the world, experience a different culture and, at the same time, enjoy an exceptional seaside vacation.

Studying Italian at the Piccola Università Italiana is so much more than just learning Italian or improving Italian language skills because, in addition to the Italian language courses, the school offers rich cultural programmes that change weekly and a variety of diverse leisure time activities.

Each Monday, Piccola Università Italiana students will find a sign up sheet in the secretary’s office for that week’s cultural programming. Students simply sign up for the activities of their choice.

Culture programming includes a video about Calabria, cooking lessons, a guided tour of Tropea, films in Italian, horseback riding (pictured above) school dinner get-togethers, music evenings, wine tasting and excursions throughout the beautiful region of Calabria. Some activities are organized by and involve school personnel directly (e.g. school dinner get-togethers) while others involve professional tour guides and/or agencies in partnership with the Piccola Università Italiana (e. g. excursions outside Tropea).

To enhance our cultural programming, we also offer activities that include painting courses, concerts, scuba diving, windsurfing, mountain biking, snorkeling, tennis, golf, fishing lessons and motor boat trips to Capo Vaticano.

While learning about Italian culture and exploring Calabria, the activities offered by the Piccola Università Italiana facilitate student interaction, encouraging our students to discover interests in common and form lasting friendships.
