Tropea is a charming medieval seaside town of 7000 inhabitants situated at the neck of the "Boot" at the same latitude as the famous Eolean islands. Italians refer to it affectionately as the "Pearl of Calabria".
Here you will find an unspoilt countryside with lush green vegetation creating a stunning contrast to the deep blue of the crystal water. The town is built on a rock which rises 42 metres from the sea and every visitor cannot but be charmed by its romantic winding lanes.
The town itself offers a range of exceptional shopping opportunities, with a marketplace and many attractive bars and restaurants. The superb sandy beaches together with a huge selection of sports and leisure activitiesworth visiting present many options to lovers of sport and culture. Tropea remains very much an Italian town and is not crowded with tourists. You will therefore have plenty of opportunity to listen and apply the language outside of school as well. It is the ideal place to combine learning and holiday.
